Kaylyn and Josh’s Backyard Wedding

Kaylyn and Josh are high school sweethearts. Kaylyn would see Josh in the hallways at school and always thought he was cute. When they first started talking at an after prom party, Kaylyn thought he was very funny, and a little bit nerdy. Josh had seen Kaylyn at one of her basketball games before and he thought she was very impressive. Once they started talking he realized how shy Kaylyn was and beautiful her smile is; he knew he needed to get to know her better. Although they were both interested they decided that since Josh was off to college in the fall that they shouldn’t start anything official. Well that didn’t last long; even through the time apart they knew they wanted to be together and wanted to make their relationship work.

Kaylyn and Josh had their backyard wedding at Kaylyn’s childhood home. They spend so much time together there as a couple which made it a very special place to say, “I Do.” There are certain elements that were musts in capturing the essence of their day and their special venue such as an old wooden swing that they love and a red gate that leads out to a beautiful pasture. Kaylyn and Josh love everything outdoorsy and rustic so Kaylyn’s childhood home was their perfect place for their backyard wedding.

The theme of their backyard wedding was rustic chic; how fitting! They chose neutral colors such as whites, greens, and lavender. There were also many wooden elements to tie together their rustic look during their ceremony. After the ceremony it was time to celebrate at Sheedy Shores Winery in Loami, IL. Between the simple but elegant cake and floral decorations; along with the addition of all the beautiful wooden elements during their winery reception, Kaylyn and Josh definitely achieved their rustic chic wedding theme.

I’m all about preserving those moments that tell your story.

Whether it’s four feet ankle-deep in mud, tenderly clasped hands, a happy tear cascading over a cheek, a hair-back laugh or a sun-drenched kiss,

The ones that move you. Bind you. Bring you together and keep you together long after the memory fades.
