As a wedding photographer, you all know that I absolutely love weddings and love all things romantic. Every wedding I attend and photograph is another reminder about how love is truly the greatest force in the world. It brings people together in both the most traditional and most unlikely ways. It is happiness, support, respect, and friendship all rolled into two hearts that share a beat. Though love can be seen in small and big moments, it is especially prevalent at weddings, which is why I love what I do so much!

Carly and Mick’s Allerton Park wedding was a beautiful occasion that celebrated the love and unity of an incredible couple. Their day was a reminder that love lives in every little moment, from the lightest touching of hands to silent meaningful glances that convey a million thoughts. After shooting Carly and Mick’s at-home engagement session, capturing their wedding day and all their love was truly a treat!

Love is in the air…

These adorable newlyweds went on their first date in the spring of 2012. And what a first date it was! Afterwards, Carly knew that she would eventually take Mick’s last name. Talk about love at first sight! As a couple, Carly and Mick laugh…a lot! Carly loves that he can always make her laugh. She says that even if she doesn’t feel like it, he will do something and look over to see her reaction, whether it’s an eyeroll or her trying to hold in a laugh. Together, they also spend their free time working out at the gym, watching a movie, or running errands. They go on vacations whenever their time and work allows. Although they have never been out of the country, they hope to do so in the future…as a married couple!

Carly and Mick tied the knot in a stunning Allerton Park wedding ceremony on September 15, 2018. There are few things better than a wedding at Allerton Park in early fall, and this couple’s wedding was certainly one for the books. The Allerton Park Barn is the perfect setting for a rustic and romantic wedding, and it is truly unlike anything else found in Central Illinois. Such a unique and beautiful location made even better by the love that Carly and Mick share! Not only was the setting magical, their colors of blush pink and navy made for an elegant, earthy, and whimsical atmosphere. From the wooden barrel tables to the wood centerpieces, the décor was rustic and chic. Hints of gold tied the whole theme together to look effortlessly elegant.

Sometimes it can be easy to get caught up in the stress of the day to ensure everything goes as planned, but everything felt so easy with Carly and Mick’s wedding – a testament to their easygoing and laid-back personalities! With every look, touch, and spin on the dance floor, it was easy to see the love emanating from this beautiful couple. Carly and Mick, along with their friends and family, enjoyed an incredible day that they will remember as the perfect start to the next chapter in their happily ever after. They are so excited to spend their lives together, and you can bet they are ready to face all its challenges side-by-side and hand-in-hand.
