Katie and Joe have actually known each other since high school but her first impression of him was that she was less than impressed. She thought he was a little annoying and kind of full of himself and Joe doesn’t even remember meeting Katie in high school. So you may be thinking how in the world did they turn that first impression of each other around? Well Katie returned back home to go to community college and while connecting with hometown friends found herself in a group chat with Joe. Eventually the group chat turned into just the two of them texting and finally Joe asking her on a date. Katie laughs at her first opinion of Joe because they are so perfect together now. The two both say they can’t remember the specific moment when they knew they had found the one; but eventually they were just inseparable.
Katie says her favorite thing about Joe is that he is very supportive of her decisions and also goes out of his way to do things for her which she is so grateful for. Joe says he loves Katie’s personality and how goofy she is. They love to cook together and recently decided they were going to master the art of homemade ravioli; which their family and friends love!
The couple decided to have their engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago which is one of the largest botanical conservatories in the nation. My favorite thing about this venue is all the different types of greenery and different locations there are to choose from in the greenhouse and outside. If you haven’t been we highly recommend because it made for a gorgeous backdrop to Katie and Joe’s love story. Their effortless smiles and genuine laughter in these pictures tell it all; making it easy to see just how excited they are for their wedding in May of 2019.
If you loved Katie and Joe’s engagement session you will also love Kelly and Michael’s scenic engagement session at Illinois Wesleyan.
