Rachel and Patrick’s The Artisans Building Wedding

Artisans Building Wedding rachael Schirano photography

It’s not long back that I had photographed Rachel and Patrick’s engagement. It was a fun session in Champaign. It was the month of September and I loved capturing their love and togetherness with a beautiful background of fall foliage.

I am so happy that they again gave me a chance to photograph an important life event. Rachel and Patrick got married in the month of January at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and hosted their reception at The Artisans Building, Illinois State Fairgrounds, Springfield.

This beautiful couple had met via dating app Bumble. After a few dates they realized they had fallen in love and were serious about each other. When it was clear in their minds that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, Patrick proposed to Rachel in a sweet and surprising way. She said yes and then they got engaged.

Capturing their wedding was such a treat for me!

I photographed Rachel as she began getting ready. I captured her fashionable footwear, her ring and her bridal gown.

Rachel looked so graceful in her full sleeve lace gown with a long train, her dress looked elegant, classic and timeless. Her veil was a beautiful net number. She teamed it up with glittery drop earrings. She decided to let her hair be open and adorned it with a floral hairpin. Patrick looked dapper in his suit with a white shirt and a light blue tie. He wore a black buckled belt and black shoes.

The cathedral where Rachel and Patrick got married was a huge complex, built in a modified Greek revival architectural style. It was a beauty and still had some of the Christmas decorations and lights on. Besides the Christmas decorations, it was decorated in red flowers for Rachel and Patrick’s wedding.

Father Michael Friedel officiated the wedding.

Rachel and Patrick’s Artisans Building Reception

After the wedding, I got some good time to photograph the newly-wed couple and let them soak in the moments of love. The Artisans Building provided me full opportunity to capture some of the best photos of the day near its well-lit staircase. The venue had marvelous alleys with paintings on its walls, where I photographed Rachel and Patrick and got amazing photographs of the couple.
The reception party was awesome. The tables were decorated in white and navy colors. They had pine leaves and dried cones on them to add to the beauty. The wedding had a nice warm and rustic feel. The band and the first dance was so lively. The speeches were lovely.
Rachel and Patrick, it was really an honor to attend your wedding and be your wedding photographer. Thank you and congratulations to you both!
