What do you do when you find your soulmate? Throw a romantic wedding and get married, of course!
There is nothing more exciting to a wedding photographer than witnessing the joining of two individuals who are very much in love, and Amanda and Pete’s romantic and elegant June wedding at the Embassy hotel in Pekin, IL was no exception. With stylistic touches of blush and gold throughout – including the bridesmaid dresses, bouquet, decorations, and dainty detailing on the cake – this wedding radiated romance and elegance.
Amanda and Pete met their freshman year at Eureka college when they took a class together…although Amanda didn’t even remember Pete being in the class! Second time is a charm, though, because they had another class together sophomore year and began dating right after. Their relationship flourished, and they spent countless hours watching movies, going on walks, and spending quality time together. How could it not when you are best friends and soulmates rolled into one?
The two broke away from their homebody ways for a day to put on the most magical and romantic of weddings for themselves, their friends, and their family. As always, I love the traditional elements of a wedding, but it is even more fun to see the couple’s personalities shine through with unique moments and personal touches. After all, no two love stories are the same!
One way that Amanda and Pete made the day their own was by exchanging notes before the ceremony. There could be nothing more pure than the emotion revealed by the sweet bride and her wonderful groom as they read each other’s words before beginning their journey together. It was the perfect way to soak in the magnitude and magic of the day.
Another special moment was the father-daughter dance. Amanda recorded a 20-second video to her dad and played it before their dance together. Talk about emotional and so perfect! It was a fabulous way to showcase the love between father and daughter. The dance with your dad is a treasured moment, and I absolutely love that she took the time to make it extra special and personal.
Their wedding day was truly one to be remembered. It was romantic, magical, and in every way perfection. After dancing the night away with their friends and family, the lovebirds jetted off to Punta Cana to enjoy some alone time as newlyweds. Cannot wait to see what is next for Amanda and Pete’s #LetsGitLITwiller adventure!
