Like the best romantic movies, Jennifer and Ryan’s love story began in a coffee shop and ended with a romantic Funks Grove wedding.
Jennifer was a barista at Starbucks in Chicago, and Ryan worked IT in the same building. One day he came by to check on some phone lines. Of course, he noticed the beautiful barista hiding beneath the coffee-stained apron, and kept stopping by to check on things until he asked her out. They went out as friends, and stayed “just friends” for months, until it was more than obvious (after they kissed in the hallway of Jennifer’s apartment building) that they were definitely dating! So cute, right? The adoring couple laughed, and they have never looked back.
Although very different, these lovebirds complement each other in the best of ways. They trust, respect, and rely on one another. They push each other to achieve their academic and professional goals. Jennifer helps Ryan open up his softer, more compassionate side, and Ryan helps Jennifer tame her anxieties and remain calm in the face of adversity. They expand each other’s interests and share new ideas and perspectives, while also supporting the other’s individual hobbies.
This pair’s constant love, support, and respect led to their October wedding at the Funks Grove Chapel in the Trees. Their wedding was the perfect blend of romantic and traditional, with a splash of fun boho style. Although the couple was looking forward to showcasing their outdoorsy side at the romantic venue known for its maple syrup, the windy weather resulted in a quick change of plans, and the couple instead wed inside the church. The nature element was not lost in the switch, as the chapel’s wood accents, white pews, and vintage touches created a beautiful and romantic atmosphere. The stunning environment and the pure love radiating between the couple transformed their entire day into a wonderful dream.
After the ceremony, Jennifer and Ryan stole some quiet moments outdoors in Funks Grove to soak in those first few moments of their new journey. The day of your wedding can be hectic, so it is always a great idea to take a moment like this after the ceremony to connect with your new spouse and escape the chaos for a few minutes.
One of the sweetest elements of Jennifer and Ryan’s day was their bridal party, which was made up of their nieces and nephews – all the children that mean the most to them! What an incredible way to include everyone on your wedding day. The young bridesmaids even did a special dance rendition to “Dear Future Husband” at the Panther Creek Country Club reception. The dance was adorable and had the whole crowd smiling.
Before leaving to start their new lives together, the couple gave out tiny bottles of maple syrup with the tag “Love is Sweet” to commemorate their day and beautiful wedding venue. Love is sweet, Jennifer and Ryan, and the world is excited to see the next chapter of your story!
