I just love it when couples have ideas about venues and the kind of photographs they want. Kelsey and Daniel had pre-decided on Urbana Country Club for their engagement photoshoot. The engagement photography session was set up in October. It was a great venue and the photographs came out beautiful.

Their Love and Proposal

Kelsey and Daniel met on Tinder. They started talking around Halloween of 2016, but their first date didn’t happen until December that year. It was because Kelsey was living in Bloomington and Daniel lived in Champaign. He drove over to Bloomington for their first date and had their second date a week later in Champaign. After this, they started seeing each other every weekend for the next several months. After six months, they realized this was serious.

Kelsey told me that Daniel had bought her tickets to Beauty and the Beast in Chicago for Christmas in 2018, the tickets were for late January, then she accidentally saw a picture of a ring through Daniel’s mom’s phone. This was a big hint for her. Daniel proposed to her after the play once they got to the hotel room which had a bottle of bubbles and chocolate-covered strawberries to welcome them.

Sports is something that binds Kelsey and Daniel together. Both are into sports. Where Daniel is into Baseball, Kelsey has a deep love for Football. They love games like Euchre and Yahtzee. Going bowling or playing mini-golf excites them too.

Kelsey likes to cook, and they eat most of their meals at home but like to go out once a weekend for dinner and drinks. Both are close to their families and spend a lot of time with them.

Fall Engagement Photography at the Urbana Country Club

I captured Kelsey and Daniel amidst greenery and trees at Urbana Country Club, which had this lovely yellow and orange hue. Their black Labrador, Kemper, was also included in some of their early photographs. It was a beautiful venue which gave a sense of serenity to Kelsey and Daniel’s photographs. The much in love couple kissed, held each other and embraced for many of the photos. Their affection-filled glances made for great pictures. I used a bridge and a park bench at the Urbana Country Club to add detail and create interest in these photographs. One photograph that stands out is the one by the lakeside. It’s just mesmerizing.
