The threads of Anna and Felix’s journey started to sew them together when they met in Champaign, IL. Now, they continue to weave together, as these incredible sweethearts get ready to embark on their next big adventure…marriage! Anna and Felix’s Allerton Park engagement session was the perfect way to capture their love and celebrate their story. Not only was the scenery stunning, this beautiful couple was absolutely glowing with their love and affection for one another, which made for picture-perfect photos!
The threads of this adorable love story began their magic when the future Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart met in Champaign at the Blind Pig, a popular and rustic local brewery. Anna was out by herself, while Felix had gone out for drinks with one of his veteran buddies. Sweet Anna remembers that he was wearing a terrible white sweatshirt – oh the things that can stand out during first meetings! Luckily, the sweatshirt was not a deterrent in any way. Anna overheard Felix telling his friend a story about how his dad had rescued a small dog that was blown down the street during a nasty Chicago winter. He made the sound effect of, “yip, yip, yip,” to describe how the dog sounded. Hearing this completely out of context, Anna started laughing at his dog impression. Felix looked up and said to Anna, “Why don’t you stop eavesdropping and join the conversation?” That is how it all started – which led us to a beautiful Allerton Park engagement soon after!
When they first started talking, both Anna and Felix noticed how many similarities they had and how many weird coincidences had happened in their lives. For example, years before they had ever met, they were both spending time in the same European cities at the same time. Felix was stationed in Germany in the spring of 2015, while Anna was in Europe for her semester abroad. Both were in Munich and Nuremberg at the same times and could have easily passed each other in the streets. Looks like fate has been trying to get these lovers together for a long time! Now as a couple, Anna and Felix love to hike, go rock hunting, grab drinks at the Blind Pig, and travel together.
Throughout it all, they have learned and grown together. Anna knew they were destined to be when she saw that Felix put the people he loves first before anything else in his life. He has a good sense of priorities and is selfless towards his family and Anna. She loves that he is a real man and a good father. For Felix, he knew he wanted to marry Anna when he saw how well she treated his kids. He says that Anna is the sweetest girl he has ever met, takes care of him when he is at his worst, and is an awesome mom! Knowing he wanted to wanted to be with Anna forever, Felix proposed on Christmas Day in 2018. The lovebirds when to Anna’s parent’s house to open gifts. Once everyone had finished exchanging gifts, Felix brought out a small jewelry store bag and gave it to Anna. He got down on one knee, proposed, and Anna immediately said, “Yes.”

The scenery and lighting were perfect, but nothing compared to the love radiating between Anna and Felix. Their photos couldn’t have turned out more beautiful, personal, or unique. They can’t wait until they get to celebrate their wedding with all of their friends and families at Allerton, and I can’t wait to see this couple embark on their next journey together!
