Oh, to love and be loved in return! Love was certainly in the air during Katie and Trent’s woodsy engagement shoot. They were so much fun, laughing and showing off their personalities the entire time.
Katie was given a free month trial for the dating site, and decided to give it a try – and aren’t we glad she did! Due to unexpected family circumstances, Katie had other things on her mind and never cancelled her trial at the end of the one-month period. She was charged for that month, but she says it was a good thing because she would not have met Trent otherwise! In the beginning, Katie was a little hesitant, and even told Trent that she would block him if he called or texted her too much. Gotta love the ups and downs of a romantic tale. Luckily for Trent – and all of us that enjoy a good love story – Katie warmed up to him. (And eventually led to their fun, woodsy engagement shoot! Woohoo!)
After a few weeks of connecting over the phone, the decided to meet up in person. Katie drove over an hour to see him, and they went on their first in-person date to Seven Saints in downtown Champaign, IL. Katie and Trent clicked immediately, and their sunny lunch date soon turned into a full-scale adventure. They walked around campus, played basketball at his parents’ house and met some of Trent’s family, and went swimming. Although Katie said it was a weird first date, she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
From the beginning, Katie and Trent shared a connection. They would spend hours on the phone talking about anything and everything, as if they had been friends for years. Katie knew this guy was the one for her very quickly. When talking about her fiancé, she said:
“I felt safe. I felt loved already. There was something different there that I had never felt before. People always say you marry your dad. Unfortunately, Trent never got to meet my dad as he came into my life about two weeks after my dad passed. But there are so many things he says and does that remind me of my dad. Over the last three and a half years, my mom has noticed it, and so has my sister, and my extended family. He came into my life at the right time, I believe he saved me.”
Their pure love led them to a beautiful woodsy engagement shoot, and it was a great time. For a couple that does not like to get their photos taken, they were so comfortable together in front of the camera! Fortunately, both love the outdoors, and the natural setting put them at ease. Above all, however, their natural comfort around each other made for the most incredible shoot.
Next stop…the wedding! So excited to see what is next for these sweethearts.
