What’s Meant to Be Will Always Find a Way

They may not have always known they were meant to be, but Katie and Joe’s engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory was evidence that they know it now! Their love for each other has grown over the years, and it was incredible to see the love, passion, and respect they have for each other during their engagement session. Their love combined with the incredible conservatory setting created magical photos that are pure and timeless.

Love at Second Sight

Katie and Joe have known each other since high school, but their relationship didn’t start then! Katie remembers being less than impressed with Joe, and Joe doesn’t even remember meeting Katie in high school. Luckily, that isn’t the end of their story! After moving back from community college for a year, she and Joe started talking and hanging out – first with their mutual friends, and then with just each other. They got along so well, that Katie finds it confusing that they didn’t ever hit it off in high school. Time is funny like that!

Now, as a couple, these two are inseparable. They like trying new restaurants, going out for a McFlurry, spending time with family, and cooking together. Recently, they even mastered the art of homemade ravioli, testing different recipes until they found the perfect one. Katie says her favorite thing about her man is that he is supportive of her decisions and goes out of his way to do things for her. Joe loves Katie’s personality and how goofy she is. Their relationship is fun, goofy, and full of laughter – like all the greatest relationships!

Engagement Session at Garfield Park Conservatory

Katie and Joe decided to have their engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago, which is one of the largest (and most beautiful, in my opinion) botanical conservatories in the nation. One of the best aspects about this venue is the variety of greenery and photo locations to choose from! As a photographer, this made it easy to create unique and stunning photos that complement Katie and Joe’s personalities. It was a beautiful backdrop to capture Katie and Joe’s love story. Their effortless smiles and genuine laughter in their photos tell it all, and it was plain to see just how excited they are for their May 2019 wedding.
