Amelia & Morne’s The Venue at Maison du Lac Wedding

Maison du Lac Wedding rachael Schirano photography

Amelia and Morne got married in Missouri on a beautiful winter day in December. I got the opportunity to photograph this young good-looking couple at The Venue at Maison du Lac. It was a lovely bright day with everyone in high spirits. The photographs came out so well.

I am grateful to Amelia and Morne for choosing me to be their wedding photographer.

Burgundy, grey, blush pink and navy were some of the major colors used at Amelia and Morne’s wedding

With it being a winter wedding, it incorporated warm and romantic colors. The whole event had a very consistent rustic theme throughout the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held in a barn and the reception was in a building overlooking the water with big glass windows.

The decorations were done up so well. Florals by the Kirkwood florist looked lovely. It was so thoughtful of the hosts to have gotten blankets placed at each of their guest’s seats, to keep them warm during this wintertime wedding.

I began photographing with the getting ready shots of Amelia and Morne. Amelia’s gown was impressive with a long, lace train. She wore lovely ear studs, a bracelet and beautiful hairpin. I also captured her striking ring.

For Morne, it was a custom made light grey suit. He wore it on a white shirt with medium brown shoes and a belt. He had a burgundy tie on and also adorned a watch on his wrist.

Morne saw Amelia directly at the ceremony venue. I took some good quick shots of the bride with her bridesmaids before that. The pretty bridesmaids were dressed up in burgundy gowns.

I also photographed the little flower girl in a white dress with a flower crown on her head. The cute little ring bearer wore a grey suit with a burgundy bow and brown shoes.

Amelia and Morne’s wedding ceremony was a lively one. After the ceremony, I stole the newly-wedded couple away for some time and got the most mesmerizing shots. The two were immersed in love and gave some of the most natural poses. The water-body behind them at The Venue at Maison du Lac added beautiful depth to the photographs. I captured some of their portraits in an alley. In the meanwhile, I managed to photograph a few family portraits and group photos with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen.

At the reception, the guests enjoyed to the fullest with great drinks and food. There were speeches, ceremonial dancing and a lot of laughter. The twist to this event came with Amelia’s cousins dancing to a choreographed number. It was good fun. The guests enjoyed looking at it, I loved photographing it and Amelia’s cousins went crazy dancing like no one was watching. It was so amazing.

Amelia and Morne, thank you for making me a part of your celebrations. Big congratulations to you and keep enjoying your lives ahead!
