Weddings are joyous events. Photographing them is exciting and gives me immense creative satisfaction. This happiness swells with the addition of interesting venues like The Normal Theater and the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. Veronica, lovingly called Roni, and Luc chose this venue to formalize their relationship and celebrate their love with family and friends.
Veronica and Luc met through mutual friends. They liked each other and decided to stay connected. After a few conversations and some meetings, they realized that cupid had struck. Soon thereafter, the two expressed their feelings to each other and decided it was time to get hitched.
Both Veronica and Luc attended Illinois State University. Veronica loves Luc’s sense of humor and enjoys all his jokes along with the one-liners. She says both of them have similar senses of humor. She also adores his kindness towards others. They’re an easy-going couple and love food, drinks, music and movies.
Veronica told us that they are foodies and love eating out together. They really like trying new things. This is how they spend most of their time and money.
I started photographing the event from the time when Veronica and Luc began getting ready. Luc dressed up in a well-tailored grey suit with a matching printed tie, brown shoes and a watch. He wore Midnight for Men perfume by Bath and Body Works. The groomsmen followed suit by dressing up in grey suits. It was time for some fun photographs of the men before they left for the The Normal Theater and Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (website).
I captured Veronica next as she started to dress up for the day. She had much fun and shared a good laugh with her bridesmaids. Veronica chose a gorgeous white gown with a beautiful long train. Her lovely veil could not be missed. The bridesmaids rocked in teal blue gowns.
On reaching The Normal Theater, Veronica’s father walked her up the altar. Veronica and Luc exchanged rings, read out their vows to become one. They walked down the aisle with hymns being sung in the background.
It was time for family portraits, group photographs with the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. Here I took the opportunity to get some good couple photos of Veronica and Luc. I also experimented with some black and white photographs and they came out great.
The reception party at that Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts was all about food and drinks followed by speeches and dances amidst laughter and lots of fun. I captured some great family pictures at this time.
I am grateful to Veronica and Luc for giving me this opportunity to be their wedding photographer. I wish you two tons of fun together, lots of travel, and a happy life ever after!
