This summer, I had the fun opportunity to capture sweet engagement photos of an incredible couple. Mary and Pete’s dreamy outdoor engagement session was complete with woodsy elements, bright sunlight, and (of course) the soon-to-be husband and wife!
Mary and Pete met on a blind date. I love it when fate brings two people together in such an awesome way! For their first date, Pete picked up Mary at her parents’ house. This meant that the first time he met his future bride, he also met her mom and dad. No pressure! Mary remembers him being so polite to her parents, and he opened the truck door for her like the gentleman he is. She was obviously pretty smitten with him from the get go! When asked what his first thought was after meeting Mary, Pete replied, “Hot damn.” Haha!
As a couple, Mary and Pete are family-oriented and outdoorsy. As homebodies, they enjoy watching movies, bonfires, and hanging out with their parents. When they want to be outdoors, they hunt and golf. Mary loves that Pete is so calm, positive, funny, and easy-going. On the same note, Pete loves Mary’s smile, her humor, and that she is incredibly caring. Funnily enough, these two share the same nickname…Poot! Pete got the nickname in college, while Mary’s dad used to call her scooter as a toddler, which then turned into Poot.
After their engagement, these two lovebirds when on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate taking the next step on their adventure together. Of course, they also needed some dreamy engagement photos to commemorate this momentous occasion! We took to the outdoors for some natural and woodsy photos that perfectly embodied Mary and Pete’s personalities. Getting photos of a couple in their element is a great way to ensure that they feel totally comfortable and themselves, which also makes sure the photos are as authentic as possible. Throughout the shoot, every smile, kiss, laugh, and glance was full of so much love. It was clear that Mary and Pete are best friends and that they are excited to start their marriage journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Skeffington.
Looking forward to their wedding, as well as their wedding hashtag…#ILoveYouASkeffingTON!
