City engagement shoots are always a blast, and Kylie and Rafael’s session was no different! For their Chicago engagement session, we took to the city to capture some stunning photos of the couple with the Chicago architecture and skyline as a beautiful background. From their sweet laughter, loving looks, and even dancing in the streets, it was clear that these two are completely, utterly, and totally in love!

Rafael and Kylie’s history has been a long one. They met right before she entered high school at Kylie’s best friend’s house. Kylie immediately thought that Rafael was so cute. He had the best smile, and she couldn’t stop looking at him. Aww, young love! Over time, they knew it was meant to be. Rafael says that there were a lot of compounding moments that made him realize that Kylie was the one. When looking back at his life, he noticed that she was there for all of the important things and events, and he knew that those wouldn’t have happened without her by his side.

The Best Thing to Hold Onto in Life is Each Other

As a couple, Kylie and Rafael are playful, and they joke about everything. While romance for them comes as small gestures, on a typical day they definitely see themselves as more playful than romantic. This was certainly evident in their Chicago engagement session – they joked and laughed and smiled the whole time, resulting in some adorable and personal photos! Together they also enjoy exploring new restaurants, checking out seasonal activities, and going on double dates with close friends. When asked about what she loves about her future spouse, Kylie said of Rafael, “He’s a family man. He’s respectful and loyal. He’s always got your back. He’s a go getter and his persistence in the face of failure is so admirable. He’s so much fun, and he allows me to vent countless times and listens like a gem.” I always love hearing someone talk about their future husband or wife – it’s genuine, heartfelt, and personal!

A Captivating Chicago Engagement

To celebrate their engagement and begin the next chapter of their lives together, we captured some amazing photos of Kylie and Rafael during an incredible Chicago engagement session. The couple wanted to include the Chicago architecture and skyline in their photos, as well as get a few shots near the water. While the background did not disappoint, it was Kylie and Rafael who stole the spotlight. Their love for each other radiated throughout the session, and made capturing their story easy. They can’t wait for their upcoming wedding in Joliet, IL, and neither can I! So excited that this cute couple will be tying the knot soon!
