Love was in the air during Sarah and David’s urban engagement session!
Sarah and David met at David’s brother’s 40th birthday party in November of 2017. Although they had both heard about each other from mutual friends, they had never met. But that would quickly change! That night, David’s brother’s girlfriend introduced them, planting the seeds of a soon-to-be budding relationship. Thank you, Courtney! They spent the night chatting up a storm and getting to know each other. Sarah’s first impression of her future beau was that the was cute, a great dresser, and that they had so much in common. David thought Sarah was incredibly nice and he enjoyed how easily their conversation flowed. Through it all, those feelings have only grown stronger. I mean of course they did, we did just shoot their engagement shoot after all!
As their relationship blossomed, these sweethearts fell more and more in love. Sarah continues to appreciate that David is a hard worker, super organized, a planner, and is very considerate of her and others. On the same note, David enjoys how much fun the two of them have, and he likes working on projects together. As a couple, they love to travel, both on week-long vacations or fun weekend getaways. They also like going to Broadway shows occasionally. Sounds like these two have a good time together, that’s for sure! So much fun, in fact, that they decided to spend the rest of their lives together…and the proposal story is so cute!
David proposed to his future bride the day after Valentine’s day at home. Although they had agreed not to get each other Valentine’s Day gifts that year, David told Sarah that he had gotten her a silly, belated gift that he wanted to give her before they went out to dinner with some friends. After she was finished getting ready for their night out, she asked David, “Where is this stupid gift?” Haha, if only she knew then! He told his cute, impatient fiancé-to-be (even though she didn’t know it yet) to go downstairs and he would bring it down when he was ready. Downstairs, she turned on the TV to watch something while she waited for him.
When David came down a little while later, he switched off the TV. Sarah shot him a dirty look that said “Hey, I was watching that!” Unperturbed by her reaction, David handed her the gift – a photo album that was full of pictures of the two of them! He told her that these were all the pictures of their travels together and that the album contained a lot of great memories. Then he said that he wanted to continue to fill it up with many more great memories in the future and asked Sarah if she would marry him. She was shocked, but of course said yes! Isn’t that so adorable? I just love a good proposal story! And it is so sweet and romantic that he popped the question at home with only the two of them to savor the moment before they went out to celebrate with friends.
To celebrate their fiancé-ship and capture their love, we went out for an urban engagement session. Not only did we take some beautiful photos of the couple with a stunning brick backdrop, we also made sure to get a few summer shots with flowers, gardens, and greenery. Sarah and David were all smiles during the entire shoot, and their laughter was infectious! It was easy to see that these two only had eyes for each other and that they were ready to start their lives together. The first stop on their next adventure is a destination wedding, where they will be surrounded by all of their closest family and friends. However, Sarah said what they are most excited for is to move into their new home and start their lives together in their place. Wishing Sarah and David endless happiness and amazing memories as they continue their journey together!
