Love was in the air at Alana and Jon’s winter engagement session!

The story of how Alana and Jon met is unique, funny, and something the couple loves to tease each other about now. It also proves that when you are supposed to be with someone, the universe will make sure you meet them at the right time. Or, in the case of these lovebirds, re-meet at the right time!

Alana and Jon were first set up by a mutual friend in 2011. They met for a quick, slightly awkward date in a loud bar with one of Alana’s friends tagging along. Nothing says romance like having your friend in tow, right? Although the two exchanged numbers that night and even had a short phone call after their first date, they didn’t meet up again. Jon remembers vividly that Alana did not return any of his texts, and both agreed that she definitely ghosted him.

The end…Just kidding! There would have been no winter engagement session if that were true!

Their story doesn’t end there (obviously), and thank goodness for that! Several years later, Alana was out with friends during a charity bowling event. Guess who was also there? You got it…Jon! Alana saw Jon walk into the bar and openly admits to creeping a bit! She snapped a photo of her and her friend with Jon looming in the background. Before you ask, the answer is yes, she does still have that picture. A memento that they can look back on and laugh about to this day! Shortly after she sneakily captured that photo, Jon marched right up to her and said very loudly, “ALANA SORRENTINO…Thanks for not calling me back!” It was a bold, but true, statement, and Alana swears it is the reason that they talked that night. Of course, Alana went after Jon to apologize, which led to the now engaged couple talking at the bar until 2am, and then talking in his truck until 5am.

Since that time, the two have basically been inseparable. They spend their time together talking, hanging out, binge-watching TV, and loving on their pet bunny rabbit. Alana had a job interview in Madison, WI two weeks after Jon and her reconnected. She says it is the first time she was happy that she wasn’t offered a job. This, combined with their reconnection at the right place and time, show that fate was looking out for these sweethearts. They were obviously meant to be together!

Who says the universe doesn’t look out for love?!

Thank you, universe, because their winter engagement shoot was pure magic! Jon and Alana were all heart eyes as we captured this special moment before they embark on their next journey. Can’t wait for their wedding! It’s going to be a day to remember, filled with love, laughter, and some fun Irish heritage traditions! #GhostedToToasted
