Welcome to married life, Mr. and Mrs. Sass! What a fitting last name for this newlywed couple who is so sarcastic and fun. In all seriousness, though, Clare and Connor’s elegant and classic Bloomington wedding was pure magic. It had the best of both worlds, mixing sophisticated elements and a graceful ceremony with a really fun and unique reception. It was truly a wonderful experience getting to capture their day of love!
Clare and Connor met at North Central College, where they were both going to school to play tennis. Clare’s aunt and Connor’s mom had a mutual friend and told the two of them to look for one another. During the fall of their freshman year, they met and talked here and there when they saw each other around campus. Fall and winter term went by, and they didn’t cross paths too often. However, when spring break rolled around, they finally hit it off! Every spring break, the men’s and women’s tennis teams go to Hilton Head Island, SC for a tennis tournament. Clare and Connor got to know each other more during this trip, and they had a blast together. After that, they started hanging out, going on long walks, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Both knew early on in their relationship that they were with the person they wanted to be with forever! Cue the romantic sighs!
As a couple, Clare and Connor consider themselves very humorous and sarcastic. Always a great combo in a relationship, in my opinion! Connor loves that Clare makes him feel like he is the only person in the world, while Clare is head-over-heels for the man that puts the biggest smile on her face every day. Together, they enjoy watching TV shows and playing tennis together. I mean, how could they not, when this was one of the things that brought them together in the first place? All of their laughter and love led them to a elegant and classic wedding in Bloomington this fall.
These adorable college sweethearts said “I do” in an elegant and classic Bloomington wedding in September. And boy, was it a fun and memorable day! Colors of white and gold, classic white bridesmaid dresses, beautiful bouquets of greenery, and a simple but gorgeous bridal gown, the theme of elegance radiated throughout the celebration. The ceremony was held at the Epiphany Church in Normal, IL, where Connor and Clare declared their love for each other in front of all their family and friends. While the ceremony was more classic and traditional, the couple’s uniqueness shoe through at the reception.
Following the church ceremony, the wedding party hopped on the party trolley and headed to the reception at the Castle Theater in Bloomington. This venue couldn’t have been more perfect, especially because it is Clare’s dad’s music venue! It was made complete with the marquee outside announcing the newly married couple, and a stage where the wedding party made their debut with their adorable puppy! A string quartet, gold dinnerware, pictures of the newlyweds when they were younger, and photos of their parents at their own weddings are just a few of the sweet details that made the reception extra special. Clare and Connor especially loved getting to spend their big day with all the people they love most. From candid pictures of the two smiling, laughing, and in their element to non-cheesy posed photos, it was clear that these sweethearts are ready for their marriage adventure together!
Congratulations, Clare and Connor!
