Wedding hashtags are all the rage these days, and I love it when a couple comes up with an exceptionally unique and personal one. With Carly taking her hubby John’s last name – King – #KingMe was an appropriate moniker for their wedding at Hickory Point Golf Course. Their day, which was full of love and laughter and personal touches, was the perfect celebration of love for these sweet lovebirds!
Carly and John met one afternoon in Chicago on the L train. Before John got off the train, he slipped Carly a piece of paper with his number on it. Um, is this a romantic movie? Seriously, slick move, John! The couple went on their first date the following week and have been together ever since. They both say that they knew within a few months that they were meant to be. They were it – for better or for worse. So many heart eyes for this cute duo!
These sweethearts start their forever journey in a beautiful September wedding at the Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth, Illinois. With colors of black, white, gold, and blush, there was a sense of simplicity and sophistication that radiated throughout the celebrations. The classic and elegant vibe created a fairytale-esque setting that was the perfect way for Carly and John to begin their next chapter.
Carly and John bring out the goofy side in each other, and the playful moments and laughter during their wedding celebration made their love shine. They also included plenty of adorable touches at the ceremony to play off of the newlywed’s last name. From the wedding favors (koozies with “King”, a crown, and “I’ll drink to that”) to the King and Queen champagne glasses, this fun touch added a unique spin on their day. There were also more personal, heartfelt details that made the day uniquely special to the couple. Carly attached a locket of her father’s to her bouquet. They decorated a beautiful table honoring their loved ones that had passed away that they wished were there to celebrate with them. The bride and groom danced “Someone Exactly Like You” by Van Morrison. Needless to say, it was perfect!
The couple held off their honeymoon for a few months so they could ditch the snow and head to sunny Hawaii in January. Yep, I’m jealous too! Have fun you two, and happy honeymooning!
