Being an engagement and wedding photographer in Illinois is such an amazing experience because EVERY shoot is different. No two people are the same and no two couples are the same, which means no two engagement shoots are the same. Libby and Darren’s shoot was certainly one to remember.
Libby and Darren met in college. Although they were both from Bloomington, Illinois, they went to rival schools. Their younger siblings were friends, and Darren’s younger brother mentioned that the two should meet because they would both be going to Augustana College. During orientation weekend, Libby and Darren ended up in a dorm with each other and a bunch of other students. At the time, Darren did not seem too interested, even telling his family that he would “never be caught dead dating a girl from Bloomington High School.” How wrong he was!
By December and January of their freshman year, these formal rivals began hanging out and eventually dating after Libby attended the Football Date Party as Darren’s date. Now, after being together for so long, Libby and Darren just get each other. Libby loves that Darren makes her laugh all the time and inspires her to think outside the box. Together, they enjoy being outdoors, running, hanging out with their dogs, and cooking. They like to travel together, and are looking forward to more adventures as a couple. They are thinking about taking some camping and hiking trips to the Grand Canyon and Colorado, and even an excursion to Europe. How fun would that be?
With such a fun couple, how could their engagement shoot not be a blast? Libby and Darren shared the spotlight with their two adorable pups during their central Illinois winter engagement shoot in Blomington. It was a family affair for the first part of their session, and then the sweet couple reclaimed their shoot with some enchanting winter photos and a trip to the water for a little fishing. It was great to see the happy couple make the shoot personal in every way, and despite the cold temps, we had so much fun incorporating their favorite activities.
