One of the greatest aspects of being a wedding photographer is getting to know the bride and groom and their love story. And Ashley and Patrick were no different!
These two lovebirds met randomly at a mutual friend’s high school graduation party. It was the beginning of summer and Patrick was graduating, while Ashley still had one year to go. When the party began to wind down, Patrick pulled Ashley aside and told her that he had been wanting to talk to her all night, but never had the chance. They exchanged numbers, and Ashley waited (patiently) for Patrick’s call. From the day he called a week later, these young sweethearts talked on the phone every night for hours on end about everything they could think of.
Ashley immediately took to Patrick’s humorous nature and loved that he could always make her laugh, while Patrick adored how easy it was to talk with and get along with Ashley. Though young, they found that they balanced each other out, and after their many comfortable, late night phone calls they knew it was meant to be.
Fast forward through nearly 8 years of laughter, support, and lots of movie dates, and Ashley and Patrick were ready to tie the knot and #PopTheCorkForORourke. Yes, that was their wedding hashtag, and it was PERFECT!
The day of their wedding was absolute magic. Every detail of the big day radiated romance – from the atmosphere, spring colors and flowers, and the picture-perfect couple. To make the event even more intimate, Patrick and Ashley exchanged letters and an emotional first look prior to the ceremony. One glance at this beautiful couple and seeing the way they looked at each other, and it was clear just how in love they were.
The ceremony took place at Holy Trinity, which was a big part of Patrick’s life and will be a big part of the couple’s life together. Surrounded by friends and family, the ceremony included so many incredible and beautiful moments. Ashley walking down the aisle arm-in-arm with her father. The love shared between bride and groom. A special presentation of flowers to the Mother Mary. Lighting a candle for deceased relatives. Each moment was unique and personal to the newlyweds, and there was no better way to celebrate the start of their future together.
Wishing all the best to Ashley and Patrick as they continue their love story!
