It was in October that I got a chance to be Laurel and Tim’s wedding photographer at the Notre Dame Catholic Church and reception party at the Butterfield Country Club. It was a lovely day with fall foliage at its peak in Illinois. This wedding was a sweet and elegant family affair with lots of love-filled moments. The event had its own share of excitement and fun.

Love In The Times Of Adventure

All love stories are interesting and exciting and everyone has their own unique story to share. Laurel and Tim are no different. Their story started in Colorado where they worked for an outdoor adventure company. Tim was so mesmerized on seeing Laurel that he just wanted her to notice him quickly. Laurel, on the other hand, found Tim to be a cute guy. They tried to strike a conversation and that was it. Their love grew with time and they decided to take this relationship seriously. Soon, thereafter, they decided to get married.

The Wedding

Laurel and Tim chose to get ready at the Family House/Hilton Oak Brook Hills for the wedding. Laurel adorned a lovely Alon Livne gown with a gorgeous train and Bella Bianca veil to complete the look. Her ear studs were awesome and the sparkly silver footwear added to her charm. Tim was dapper in his midnight blue tuxedo. He wore black shirt inside with a black bow atop. His striking silver cuff-links and white pocket square teamed up well with the black shoes.

Laurel and Tim had their first look post this. Capturing this part of the wedding is one of my favorites. The natural flow of emotions beautifies the photographs without much effort. Laurel carried an attractive bouquet of white and violet flowers in her hand. Tim was overwhelmed upon seeing her. Both Laurel and Tim had big smiles on their faces as they hugged amidst all the greenery. I got some good time here to get pretty portraits, some of them being with the couple’s pet dogs, whom they love so dearly.

The wedding ceremony took place at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Clarendon Hills. It was a beautiful wedding. The venue had nice floral decorations. Laurel’s father got emotional while walking her up the aisle. At the same time, tears moistened Tim’s eyes as he saw the woman of his dreams walking towards him in bridal couture. Father David solemnized the marriage. The couple exchanged hugs with friends and family members before walking down the aisle.

The Reception

Before the reception party started at the Butterfield Country Club, Nancy Buttacavoli, Oak Brook, I photographed Laurel and Tim with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The bridesmaids were glowing in their emerald green gowns and the groomsmen looked so good in their black tuxedos. They wore emerald green pocket squares to match with the girls. Then there were some family portraits before I stole the couple away to capture their love and celebration at a perfectly mowed lawn.

Later, the reception party comprised cake cutting, dinner, the speeches, the first dance, the mother-son dance and the father-daughter dance. Post this, the dance floor was opened for the guests.
