India and Daniels’ romantic vineyard wedding was such an amazing experience. These two have a love that looks effortless. The way they connect was beautiful to capture. It was a true pleasure to be the wedding photographer for their romantic church ceremony at St. Mary’s Church and rustic vineyard reception at Whistler’s Knoll Vinyard in Hortonville, Wisconsin.
India and Daniel first met when they were invited to join a co-ed soccer team. They shared mutual friends and enjoyed the sport, but India originally didn’t pay much attention to Dan. He was more of a hockey player, so he wasn’t the most coordinated with his feet. But everything changed when they were invited to a pedal tavern. As they pedaled around, they started talking. When they arrived at the final stop, The Milwaukee Ale House, they really started to hit it off. The rest was history!
The proposal happened when Dan and India headed to her uncle’s house for Thanksgiving with her extended family. Dan had asked India’s father for his permission earlier in the evening and so he was nervous all day! He could barely eat! After dinner had ended, everyone was huddled around a table talking. Dan took India by the hand, and before she even realized what was happening, he was down on one knee.
Other than each other, Dan and India love their cottage up north in Keshena, boating, playing yard games, their golden retriever puppy, Marley, and their friends. India shared that their friends are like family, and that was so clear when I got the chance to meet everyone on the day of the wedding. It was so clear that the bride and groom have so many people in their lives who love them. The wedding party was made up of 15 people including the bride and groom, and people traveled from all over the nation to stand up with them as they said their “I Do’s.”
On the day of their wedding, I met up with India and her bridesmaids at St. Mary’s Church where they were getting ready. I loved how they all had matching outfits to relax in as they prepared for the day. When India was ready, she had a first look with Dan.
I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, and there’s something so special about a romantic first look. When Dan first laid eyes on his bride-to-be, it was so sweet. There was so much emotion as they embraced for the first time. There were tears in his eyes, and then he couldn’t take his eyes off of her! India was so happy, her smile lit up her whole face. Even though they shared a romantic first look, when India walked down the aisle with her father, Dan was emotional again. It was so clear how much he adores India and it warmed my heart to be able to photograph their love.
Dan and India had their wedding reception at the stunning Whistler’s Knoll Vineyard. It was the perfect blend of rustic and elegant for their reception. When the bride and groom were first announced as husband and wife, they started right away with cutting the cake. I loved how the cake was green and yellow! (Go Packers!) When Dan and India took to the dancefloor to share their first dance as husband and wife to “I Go Back” by Kenny Chesney, the world fell away. It was just India and Dan, alone in the world.
India and Dan, thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I loved photographing your love and being a part of your romantic Whistler’s Knoll Vineyard wedding. Best wishes to both of you!

Whether it’s four feet ankle-deep in mud, tenderly clasped hands, a happy tear cascading over a cheek, a hair-back laugh or a sun-drenched kiss,
