Nothing says romance like a rustic Christmas wedding. After all, what could be better than a wedding during the most wonderful time of the year? Morgan and Ben’s rustic Christmas wedding on December 2, 2017 was a dream – whimsical, enchanting, and perfect! It was the most magical way to celebrate the love between these two souls, and it was an honor getting to capture their special day.
Morgan and Ben met in 2013 after talking via text and Facebook for the previous three years. Yes, they went three years without meeting each other in person! Which means they had three years to get to know each other in all the best ways. When they finally met in person, it was like they had known each other forever. Morgan remembers feeling extremely happy and it almost felt like she was home. Ben felt the same way, and he knew they were meant to be together. They went on their first date and the very next day, Ben asked Morgan to be his girlfriend. These cute lovebirds have been together ever since!
As a couple, Morgan is the more relaxed one, whereas Ben is the worry wort. However, when they are together, they balance each other out quite nicely. They are almost always laughing at something and they always try to have a good time. Throughout their relationship, Morgan has grown to love how smart her man is. She could ask him any question out of her head and he would either know the answer or make it up. Ben always gives Morgan an answer to her crazy theories, and she says that makes her feel safe. Together, they love traveling and have been to number of places together. These include Las Vegas, Boston, Myrtle Beach, New York, Nashville (five times!), Colorado, Gatlinburg, Milwaukee, and several small trips to St. Louis and Chicago. Talk about adventurers! And when you get to adventure with your best friend like Morgan and Ben, it’s even better!
Four years after meeting in person, Morgan and Ben decided to say “I do” in the most beautiful rustic Christmas wedding ever! With colors of champagne and forest green, the rustic vibe radiated perfectly. Morgan looked stunning in her lace dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves, while her bridesmaids complemented her in champagne Vera Wang dresses. The men, too, looked dapper in their black pants, grey tuxedo jackets, forest green vests, and champagne pocket squares.
They wed at the Northwoods Community Church, and there was not a dry eye in the house – especially with Morgan and Ben. When he saw his bride walking towards him down the aisle, Ben was moved with emotion, and it was incredible capturing this sweet moment. The day was full of tradition, as well as unique and personal touches. Their hashtag #joytobejohnson expressed their excitement of finally being man and wife. Morgan included a picture of her grandmother on her bouquet, which made for a beautiful tribute and added touch. As family and friends gathered and celebrated this amazing couple, it was easy to see the incredible love they share – both for each other and their loved ones. As a wedding photographer, I love weddings because they bring out all the best kinds of love, and Morgan and Ben’s rustic Christmas wedding was no different.
Morgan and Ben left to Cancun for their honeymoon, but we can’t wait to see where life takes them next! Congratulations to these sweethearts!
