Kate & Brodie’s Allerton Park Mansion wedding in Monticello, IL was actually the backdrop of where they met while in school at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IL. They both worked at Allerton Park Mansion as part of the architectural degree program they were enrolled in at the time. When it came time to find an amazing venue for their wedding day, the choice was obvious.
Their celebration took place on an uncharacteristically, but beautifully, warm day late in September. On the days leading up to their wedding it rained and rained and rained. So much so that many of their guests were unsure if they would be able to attend Kate and Brodie’s Allerton Park Mansion wedding. But that morning, waking up to gorgeous weather, I knew we were going to have an amazing day!
They said their vows in the Fu Dog Gardens under the very spot where Brodie proposed. So perfect, right? They were surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends, who all stayed on the grounds in one of Allerton Park Mansion’s several charming rooms. After the ceremony, cocktail hour took place on the back lawn of the mansion as the sun was setting. It was absolutely magical.
Cocktail hour was followed by dinner in the main room and dancing in the library…all accompanied by a live band. Kate and Brodie took dance lessons leading up to their wedding day, which made for one of the most adorable first dances. It was fantastic!
