Our dogs are part of our family and for some their wedding day would not feel complete without their fur baby there. There are so many way to incorporate your pets in your day; which also makes for some extra adorable pictures..our favorite! Some common ways that couples include their pets are having them fill in as the ring bearer or flower girl. Although this idea could not be any cuter it is important to consider your dog’s personality. If they don’t do well around a lot of people or wouldn’t cooperate with walking down the aisle having your pet involved may not work out how you have envisioned. Also keep in mind that dogs jump and have sharp nails; there’s a chance this could damage or get your dress dirty. It is especially critical to think about all the logistics of the day such as who will be in charge of the dog; making sure it’s taken to the bathroom, and bringing it to and from the ceremony and reception.
Let’s talk about the bouquet! Although beautiful, certain flowers such as baby’s breath and lilies are extremely toxic to dogs so it is important to consider your flower choices when thinking about including your pet in your day. Another important thing to consider is if your pet is allowed at your chosen venue. This is something to keep in mind early. Take the time to ask the church officials beforehand if pets are allowed so to avoid an awkward wedding day situation. If your furry friend is not allowed you can always include them in your outside portraits after the ceremony. Be sure to let your photographer know about including your pet in your special day as they probably have some good ideas for memorable photos! Most importantly it is up to you, as the bride and groom, to decide how you want to include your pet in your day, and then of course reward them for being such a good boy!

Whether it’s four feet ankle-deep in mud, tenderly clasped hands, a happy tear cascading over a cheek, a hair-back laugh or a sun-drenched kiss,
The ones that move you. Bind you. Bring you together and keep you together long after the memory fades.
