The first thing Marcus thought to himself upon meeting his future wife was, “She was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my whole entire life.” Fast forward many years and two graduate degrees later, and Sarah and Marcus are inseparable! On November 4, 2017, these college graduate-school sweethearts tied the knot in a beautiful urban wedding ceremony in Urbana, IL. It was a blast witnessing their love and capturing the intimate moments of this special celebration!

Grad-School Sweethearts

Sarah and Marcus met at Midwestern University when they both started grad school for Physical Therapy in June 2012. They were friends for the first few months of school, and then made it official in October. Although it took longer for Sarah to realize it was meant to be, it was clear that they were inseparable throughout the entire summer and couldn’t stand to be apart. They used “study sessions” at the library as an excuse to hang out. Who would’ve known then that those late-night study sessions would soon turn into a beautiful, romantic, adorable love story?

Best Friends to Partners

From the moment they started dating, it was a clear that Sarah and Marcus were best friends. Even now as a couple, they are easy-going, super fun, and love to dance. Anyone who knows these lovebirds knows that Sarah and Marcus love to hit up every dance floor and dance like no one is watching, even if they’re not (as Sarah says) the most graceful of dancers. However, I got to seem them cutting a rug at their urban wedding, and their dancing is so full of life and energy – it was amazing! Besides loving to dance, Sarah and Marcus love to spend their time traveling, enjoying lazy nights on the couch, going out with their friends, going to concerts, visiting family, exploring pumpkin patches in the fall, hitting the farmers markets on Saturday mornings, and hiking in the summer. They even have the cutest nickname for each other – “Cheeks”! Aren’t they the cutest?

Love is Love is Love

Throughout it all, Sarah has grown to love her man more every single day. She adores how loving Marcus is. He never lets a day go by without making his partner-in-crime feel extremely special and beautiful. Some may say he is a softie and a bit emotional, but Sarah loves it because he pours his heart and soul into everything he does. He never fails to make everyone smile and laugh in the room, and he goes above and beyond for all of his friends and family. She also loves that his easy-going nature balances out her more worrisome self.

For Marcus, there are some many things he could list that he loves about his bride. He loves how selfless she is, and that it seems that she is always worrying about everyone else above herself. Sarah does so much for her man, and Marcus says that he tries not to take that for granted and let her know how much he appreciates her always. He also loves how fun she is to be around. They are alike in so many was, and whether it is just being weird around each other at home, being lazy, or going out for something exciting, Marcus always has a blast with his leading lady by his side! They have an incredible relationship, where they value each other’s personalities, support each other in all the best ways, and complement one another. Seriously, I have so many heart eyes for this wonderful couple!

An Urban Wedding

These sweethearts couldn’t wait for their November urban wedding. They were most excited to see all of their favorite people in one place at the same time, but were also looking forward to seeing everything come together for their celebration of love. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Their colors of burgundy, gold, and rustic white intermixed with all kinds of greenery definitely created the classic and urban feel they were hoping for. The day was full of happy tears, ear-to-ear smiles (not just from the bride and groom!), intimate moments, and so much love! Their wedding and unconditional love reminded me why I love my job so much. Wishing you all the best on your marriage adventure, Sarah and Marcus!
